What does Manji mean? Manji, which in Kanji is written as 万字, literally means ten thousand Chinese characters. Although approximately there are about hundred thousand Chinese characters, average Japanese speaker is capable of about 2000 Kanji, average Chinese about 2500 to 3500 Hanzi, and average Koreans about 1800 Hanja before it was disfavored. While the world of Hanzi/Kanji/Hanja is a giant universe to explore, this app is only dedicated to Japanese learners which means all the Chinese characters in this app is exclusively Kanji and there are about 2800 of them.
